Tonight’s Peace Party at Danny’s benefits the Iraqi Book Mobile!!! YAY!
Last year’s benefit was a huge success and enabled us to outfit the Library van with books and school supplies. The mobile library has been hitting the Iraqi neighborhoods of Amman, Jordan for 3 months now and is wildly popular with the community. Thousands of displaced Iraqis live in Amman and Syria with little or no access to education. This mobile library is able to get books into the hands of hundreds of kids AND foster the community around them.
Not only does the book mobile keep the kids’ brains in action, but a number of professors and successful Iraqi artists have been lending their time to teach technology, literature, painting and theater to the kids. Lets keep it going!
